How do I set up an account in EBSCO?
Do I need an EBSCO account?
If you would like to save searches, add items to a folder, download ebooks or create alerts you should create an EBSCO account.
To create an EBSCO account:
1. Access one of the library's databases provided by EBSCO (for example, Academic Search Complete, EBSCO Ebooks, Psychology and Behaviorial Sciences Collection, etc.)
2. Select Sign In link in the upper right toolbar.
3. Below Welcome Back and next to "Don't have an account?" Select the Sign up link and complete the form.
4. For email address, you can use either your personal or your HVCC email address.
5. For password, note that your password must be at least six characters long and must contain at least one number and one special character. Your password can't contain your e-mail address or any common phrases.
6. Once you create an account, select the Sign in link and log into your personal EBSCO account.
For more information, see How to Create and Manage a MyEBSCOhost Account.
For instructions on saving items to a MyEBSCO account, see How to Use the MyEBSCO folder.
Note that MyEBSCO accounts are completely separate from HVCC accounts, your HVCC log-in information will not work for MyEBSCO.
