How can I get writing help?
Visit the Writing and Research Center located on the second floor of the Marvin Library Learning Commons. In-person writing support is available on the second floor of the Marvin Library Learning Commons as follows:
Fall hours
Monday - Thursday: 8a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday 8a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
Fall 2025 Remote Assistance
To submit a paper to us through Brightspace/Turnitin, the student first needs to enroll in the WRC organization, using these steps:
To enroll, follow these steps: From www.hvcc.edu, go to “I am a . . . Student” and then “D2LBrightspace” to log in with your HVCC username and password.
· Log into Brightspace.
· From the green Navigation Bar at the top of the page (below where it says “Hudson Valley Community College”), click on “Discover.”
· Search for the “HVCC Writing and Research Center” in the search-box.
· Click on the tile text for “HVCC Writing and Research Center.”
· Select the “Enroll in Course” button.
Then, once the student logs into the WRC pages, they can follow the link to "Send in a Paper for Review." That will bring the student to the page where they can send the paper to us through Turnitin, and one of the writing specialists will be able to review it and give written commentary.
